Report Suspicious Activity
The Elmira Police Department encourages everyone to report any type of suspicious activity or behavior.
If it is an emergency, DO NOT hesitate to Dial 911.
One way to report suspicious activity is to call the Anonymous Tipline at 271-HALT or 271-4258. Do not call this number if there is an immediate threat- call 911. The halt-line is only checked periodically throughout the day.
Although this line can be anonymous everyone is encouraged to leave a name and number so an Officer can call you back if they have further questions. *THE POLICE ARE NOT ABLE TO RESPOND TO YOU THROUGH THIS METHOD OF REPORTING. IF YOU EXPECT A CALL OR EMAIL BACK, YOU MUST LEAVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND/OR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE NARRATIVE.*
